For several months, it's didn't appear that the Bartlett Area Chamber's "Annual Golf Outing" was going to be an outing at all.
"Ultimately we had an awesome day yesterday at
Bartlett Hills Golf Club, picture perfect day and we were so thrilled," said
Cindy Olson, prearrangement and aftercare counsellor at Countryside Funeral Homes.
Covid has upended most everyones' plans, including those of the small business community.
The annual golf event for Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce members appeared to be on shaky ground after the first postponement. The event was was originally scheduled for June, but social distancing guidelines and elevated levels of risk had the steering committee weighing their options.
Olson, who volunteered and serves on the Chamber golf committee, said that the leadership wanted to make sure all members participating were kept safe. "We didn't want our members to feel conflicted about participating," Olson said.
Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory sponsored Hole 5, where Olson handed out branded golf towels to players who mugged for the camera.

"Absolutely we have fun! As you know though, it's always tough to get volunteers, and in these times even more so," Olson said. "It's still a great opportunity to network with local businesses and make new friends."
