Visitation for Winona Johnson (nee Rice), a 45 year resident of Hanover Park, will be Monday, November 19 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Road), Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20 at the funeral home. Interment Chapel Hill South.
Born April 28, 1936 in Harrisburg, Illinois, Winona passed away Thursday, November 15.
She enjoyed visiting with her longtime friends and neighbors in Illinois and more recent friends in Lafayette, Indiana. She loved dogs and music; especially Elvis Presley.
She was the beloved wife of Donald; loving mother of Julie (Jeff) Farmer; proud grandmother of Amy (Andy) Smith and Greg Zahn; loving daughter of the late Ownly Rice and Avis (nee Bolerjack); dear sister of Ronald (Mary Catherine) Rhyce and the late Lorna Zweifel; cherished aunt to Randi, Michael, Brendan, Dierdre, Siobhan and Don. She was also preceded in death by her nephew William McLaren and her granddog Bela.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Anderson Animal Shelter 1000 South LaFox Road, South Elgin, IL 60177 would be aprreciated.
