William Mawhinney

William J. "Grampa Bud" Mawhinney, of Bartlett and formerly of River Grove; husband of the late Virg; dad of John (late Mary) and the late Pat; brother of the late Ed (Joan), Florence (Dave), Dorothy (Frank), Eleanor (Clifford) and Daiz; grampa of Samuel "Sam" and Genalyn; son of the late John and Viola; uncle of many nieces and nephews, proud companion of his dog Punchki and last but not least his loving, adopted Puerto Rican granddaughter Luz-Marie Caro, aka Lutz Mary Carey. William entered into the Army on February 18, 1942 at Camp Grant in Chicago, Il.. He was honorably discharged from the Army on October 24th, 1945. Bud loved life and brought joy and happiness to those who were a part of his life. He had a unmatched sense of humor which would bring out the best smile. He enjoyed square dancing and weekly bible study groups. Visitation Friday 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert St. (at State St.) South Elgin, Il.
