William “Bill” Mac Donald

As the sun was setting Monday March 28th, Bill had to sense this evening would be great to go trolling for Walleye.

His family is sure his Late Wife Luann and Daughter Tina were waiting to greet him with a cigar, a shot of Jim Beam and a freshly poured glass of his beloved Guinness. Bill took one last breath and went fishing.

Born in the Bronx, New York on October 13th 1939, Bill enlisted in the navy when he was 17 years old. After his enlistment he had a long career with Illinois Bell/Ameritech as a cable splicer. After retiring from Ameritech he went on to work for the Village of Bartlett for 13 years, until he finally retired for good.

He was preceded in death by both his parents Matthew and Marion (nee Griffin), his wife Luann and his daughter Christina Hughes. He was a loving father to son Matthew (Michelle) and daughter Marie (Edwin). Bill was Papa to Alexander (Roxy), Steven (Sam), Tyler (Megan), Trevor (kari), Travis, Katie, Rosie, William and Joey, great Papa to Aisling, Dillyn and Eddie.

We will miss Bill’s wicked sense of humor but are taking comfort that somewhere he is relaxing with a fishing pole in one hand and a cigar in the other.

In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local animal shelter. Bill was an animal lover as well.
