William Lawrence "Bill" O'Brien passed away peacefully in the early morning of February 1, 2026, just days after celebrating his 98th birthday on January 28th, with some of his children and grandchildren. Bill served it the ARMY with Company K 91st Infantry Manila. He was preceded in death by his Mother Delia, Father Patrick, Brothers John, Donald, Vince, James (Ed), Jerome, and his firstborn grandchild, Dawn Elizabeth. He is survived by his children, Thomas O'Brien, Mary Malina, Annette Milauskas, Anthony (Nora) O'Brien, Patrick (Jennifer) O'Brien, and Connie (Joe) Loerwald, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren ang 6 great-great grandchildren. Bill was the best Grandfather and was always their biggest cheerleader, making sure he was there for every game, performance, or achievement. He put up with their chaos and annoying antics with a smile on his face. He found the greatest joy in the simple moments with family— sitting around a fire, watching the game, or simply being together. He will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, patience, and his unique ability to make anyone feel like part of the family. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried on for generations. There will be a celebration of his life in Mauston, Wisconsin in the summer of 2026.
