William "Bill" Henry Himley, 78, resident of Schaumburg the past 55 years, died Tuesday, June 21, after a brief illness. He was born in Chicago on Nov. 7, 1943 to Robert D and Rose (nee Keller) Himley. The family moved to Park Ridge in 1950 where Bill grew up, and graduated from Maine Township East High School. He married Barbara Stoll of Chestnut, Il. on August 23, 1964. She survives, as do two daughters, Lee Ann Himley of Schaumburg and Sue (James) Tobin of St. Charles, and three grandchildren: Tyler, Sydney and Ryan Tobin with whom he loved to spend time. He is also survived by one brother, Robert D (Lynn) Himley of Schaumburg, and one sister-in-law, Lorene Stoll of Chestnut.
Bill was a plumber with Local 130 for 42 years, working for several firms, Saville Plumbing (Park Ridge), Corra Plumbing (Schaumburg), Cecchin Plumbing (Bloomingdale) and Classic Plumbing (Park Ridge) before retiring in 2005. He was a model railroad enthusiast, and enjoyed traveling and photography in retirement. He was a faithful member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schaumburg.
Visitation Sunday June 26, 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Rd. (1/2 South of Irving Park Rd.) Roselle. Funeral Monday, lying in state 10:00 am at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church 1800 Rodenburg Rd. Schaumburg until time of service 11:00am. Interment Town of Maine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
