William "Bill" Fix a former Streamwood resident, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011
in Herrin, IL. He was born on July 14, 1931 to William H. and Jennie L. (Jenkins) Fix who proceeded him in death.
Visitation will be held Sunday 2:00 - 8:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Monday 10:00a.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.
Mr. Fix is survived by son Brett; son Bill (Judy); daughter Cindy and Guy Johnson, and four granddaughters - Jessica and Katelyn Fix and Lauren and Ryanne
Johnson. Other survivors are sister Carol and Ray Cieselwicz, their son Steve and ex-wives Donna and Sherry.
Bill was very active in Streamwood boys' athletic programs. He both managed
and coached Little League, SBA basketball and Falcons football teams. He was also
an active participant in the village’s Canton Middle School and Streamwood High
School parent advisory activities.
Mr. Fix graduated from the University of Illinois in 1956 with a BS degree
in Journalism. He worked for one of Chicago's largest advertising agencies,
and has held several advertising and public relations management positions
with such companies as Motorola, Armour Chemical, Dukane, Ideal Industries and
Klein Tools from where he retired in 1988. He also retired from the US Army
Reserves in 1965 as a Captain in the Signal Corps.
Bill played both baseball and football, and loved to watch the Chicago
sports and U of Illinois teams. He also loved to play golf and fish with his two
sons.
Memorials may be made to either of his two sons, Brett or Dr. William Fix.
