Wendell G. Morris, 84, of Streamwood died Monday October 31, 2011 at Sherman Hospital. He was born May 3, 1927 in Pittsburgh PA the son of Wendell J. and Ethel G. Morris. Wendell served in the Navy during WWII and Korean Conflict. He began his career as an airline mechanic with Capital Airlines in 1954 at Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C. Capital Airlines merged with United Airlines in 1961. In 1969 he was transferred to O’Hare Airport where he worked until he retired in 1992 after 38 years with Capital/United Airline as a Lead Aviation Mechanic. Beloved husband for 57 yrs of June (nee Abbott). Loving father of Sharon (the late Larry) Leschke of Streamwood, Linda Kalinski of Rolling Meadows, June Landon of South Elgin, and Mark of Brisbane, CA. Proud grandfather of Stephanie (Ernest) Lane of Hanover Park, Amy Kalinski of Rolling Meadows, Mark Kalinski of Arlington Heights, and Daniel Landon of South Elgin. Cherished great grandfather of Devonte, Javon, Jasmine, Mariah, Jordan, and Tatyana Lane. Dear brother of Robert (the late Phyllis) Morris of Pleasant Hills PA. Many loving nieces and nephews.
