Walter Vlasak, 87, of Bartlett for 82 years, died Thursday, February 28, 2013. Born July 7, 1925 in Chicago. He was the son of George and Marie (nee Regocki). Walter was a veteran having served in the Merchant Marines and volunteer Bartlett firefighter for many years. He enjoyed many things especially bowling and fishing, but his true passion was his family.
Survivors include wife of 65 years Viola (nee Beckmann); children Linda and Rich; grandchildren Ashley (Ben) and Adam and sister Marilyn Ziaja.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Edward and George.
Visitation 3:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett RD (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Lying in state Monday from 10:00a.m. until time of funeral 10:30a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 780 S Bartlett Rd, Streamwood. Interment Bartlett Cemetery.
