Vlasta J “Val” Slezak, 93, of Schaumburg, died Sunday, October 24, 2010. Born September 20, 1917 in Chicago. She was the daughter of Joseph and Frances (nee Bielek) Mica. Val enjoyed many things including crocheting, knitting, cooking, bowling, golf and especially bingo. Val and her husband Jerry Jr. were active in many clubs, but her true passion was taking care of her family.
Survivors include daughter Geraldine F. (Leslie) Frick and son Charles J. Slezak; grandchildren Leslie Jr (Karen) Frick, Lisa (Miguel) Cabrales, Matthew (Rhea) Frick, Nicholas Slezak, Sarah (Jeffrey) Pate, Todd and Troy Slezak; great-grandchildren David (Jennifer), Timothy, Megan, Brittany, Monica, Madeline, Sophie, Henry, Kate, Brandon, Gaven and four other great grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren Hannah and Jillian; brother Edward (Blanche) Mica; sisters-in-law Wilma and Mildred and 9 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Jr, her parents, brother Joseph Mica, sister and brother-in-law Emily and Charles and 1 niece.
A memorial visitation will be Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 10a.m. until time of memorial service 11a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 South Rush St, Roselle, IL. Entombment was private at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
