Virginia Mae Martin, cherished wife, beloved mother, treasured grandmother, and revered great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on May 29th, 1942, in Schaumburg, Illinois, Ginger's life was a testament to love, creativity, and devotion to family.
Ginger resided in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where she cultivated her passion for gardening and her love for holiday decorating. Known for her vibrant spirit and artistic flair, Virginia touched the lives of many through her years as a talented Hair Dresser in Roselle, IL. Her joy in beautifying others extended far beyond her profession, influencing her personal life and community interactions.
Virginia was a devoted wife to Burl Martin, with whom she celebrated a loving marriage of 47 years. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and shared adventures. Her legacy lives on through their children: Kelly Mandarino, Michelle (John) Shelton, Michael (Erica) Martin, and Mandy (Tim) Anderson. Her much-loved grandchildren: Ricky (Jamie) Nelson, Carly (Brian) Trainor, Brady Anderson, Joey Mandarino, Tyler Anderson, Niko Dakuras & Fletcher Martin, with her treasured great-grandchildren: Ryan, Reighlyn, Eva & Leo, held a special place in her heart.
Ginger was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Hedwig Nebel, and her brothers Jim, Wayne, and Frank Nebel. She is survived by her siblings Wesley, Russell, and Dave Nebel, who shared a lifetime of cherished memories and shared bonds. She is also a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ginger's life at a visitation on Wednesday, March 18th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 333 S. Roselle Rd. Roselle, IL with a Funeral Service during the visitation at 6:00 pm. Interment will follow the next day at East Dundee Township Cemetery at 11:00 am.
Ginger's heart was her garden, and her family was her world. She created beauty wherever she went and showed boundless love to those around her. Her graciousness, warmth, and love will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
