Viola C. Straub (nee Botterman), 98, of Schaumbug, went to her heavenly home on May 26, 2010. She was at her home in Schaumburg when she passed away. Viola was the daughter of Herman and Anna (Katz) Botterman of Schaumburg and was born August 24, 1911. On May 30, 1936 she married Albert Straub. A lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Viola worked on a farm in Schaumburg and drove a school bus for District 211 until she was 80 before retiring to her home in Schaumburg.
Viola was the mother of Carolyn (Joel) Gyurnek of Schaumburg and Beverly (James) Shuttle of Scottsdale, AZ; grandmother of Debra (Jim) Pahike, Keith (Jane) Blomberg, Nathan and Lori Gyurnek all of Schaumburg and Randy (Maryann) Shuttle of Phoenix; great grandchildren of Jennifer, Megan, Matthew, Grant, Ryan, Brett, Trevor, Patricia, and Catherine.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, parents, brothers Herman, Alvin and John, sisters Anna, Selma, Meta and Edna and grandson David Shuttle.
Visitation Tuesday from 3-8p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home, 333 S Roselle Rd (1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd), Roselle. Lying in state Wednesday from 9:30a.m. until time of service 10:30a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1001 E. Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg. Interment Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church.
