Vicki Forni
March 14, 1954 — January 22, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Vicki Lee Forni, who left us suddenly on January 22, 2025 due to heart failure. She was 70 years old. Vicki was the beloved wife of Dr. Phillip Forni; loving mother of Laura (Christopher) Heinl and Jason Forni; proud grandmother of Kendall Heinl; cherished daughter of Clifford (Elaine) Kilian and the late Peggy Kilian; dear sister of Cathy Stratman, Dayna (Rick) Pierzchala, Kerri (Terry) Brehn, Tod (Cameo) Kilian and Kelly (Ray) Ramirez as well as a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was born in Rantoul, Illinois, but as a child she moved frequently, experiencing different communities before her family settled in Lockport, Illinois. In high school, she played the French horn and was passionate about her time in the band. She graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing (BSRN) from Lewis University and spent many years as a nurse, providing compassionate care to those in need. Later, she supported her husband in his podiatry practice, where her attention to detail and strong work ethic left a lasting impact.
A lover of words and creativity, Vicki found joy in reading and completing word puzzles, always seeking a new challenge. She loved reading romantic books and watching Hallmark movies. Her favorite movies and stories were always those that focused on love, family, and heartfelt connections. Her hands were never still—whether crocheting beautiful blankets or crafting stuffed animals, she poured love into every stitch. Her granddaughter, who adored her, was fortunate to learn the art of crochet from her, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Spending time with her family, especially playing board games, brought her immense joy.
Those closest to her knew she could be a bit stubborn and always had her own way of doing things. Her strong-willed nature was something that her family loved and often had to navigate—but it was part of what made her so uniquely special. Her family will forever remember her as a woman of strength, conviction, and immense love.
A visitation will be held on Friday January 31, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 405 Rush Street in Roselle, Illinois, followed by a church service at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help cover funeral and medical expenses. Donations can be made here:
