Troy McDonald, 49, of Roselle and formerly of Schaumburg and Hawthorn Woods; husband of Brenda Lovell; son of Pat (Russ) and the late Bill McDonald; son-in-law of Barb and Vern Lovell; brother of Scott Baguhn and uncle of Brian (Marcy) Baguhn; grandson of the late Louvian and the late Raymond Mahler and the late Beatrice and the late William McDonald; cousin of Jennifer (Pete) Mahler, Mike Mahler and Ryan Mahler; nephew of Jim (Sue) Mahler. When at home their two collies Maxx and Porter were never far from his side. Troy was the proud owner of Straight Edge Carpentry. His work was his passion and there was no job or project too complicated for him to tackle. He could fix anything, but in fixing something, wanted to know how it worked and was there a better way to put it back together. He was quietly compassionate, and at times would bend the rules. He liked to challenge you with his mind using his quick wit and creativity. Although only 49, he was an old soul. Lyrics to well written songs and lines from his favorite movie, Rocky, left a lasting impression on Troy. He was a simple, yet complex man who will truly be missed. Memorial visitation Tuesday, October 30, 3:00 pm until the time of service 7:30 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 South Roselle Road (1/2 mile South of Irving Park Road) Roselle.
