Pingree Grove

Thomas S. Delort, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on November 17, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom lived in Pingree Grove and previously resided in Hanover Park, where he brought joy and warmth to all who knew him.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Ann, his two cherished children, Adam Delort and Kim Delort (Kinson Coons), and his siblings Linda Karg (the late Al), Paul Delort, Michelle Almada, John Delort (Nancy), and Gayle Gillig (the late Michael). He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Paul and Rose Delort.

Tom's passions in life were as vibrant as his unmistakable smile. A true Chicagoan at heart, he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears, always eager to cheer his teams to victory. Tom found peace and joy in golfing and fishing, activities that perfectly complemented his fondness for enjoying a cold beer. His mantra, "Start early, Finish early," guided him through life with a zest and optimism that inspired those around him.

Tom's positive spirit and generous heart were evident to all who encountered him. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, brightening lives with his kindness and laughter. His legacy is one of love, camaraderie, and unwavering loyalty.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory in South Elgin. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Tom's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to have known him. As we bid farewell to Tom, we remember him not just for the life he lived, but for the love he gave and the happiness he shared with everyone.  In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Tom's memory to enjoy a round of golf in his honor or raise a toast to a life wonderfully lived.
