Thomas J. DeDea, 94, of Bloomingdale, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025. Born April 30, 1931, in Frugality, PA. He was happiest working outside, growing many types of flowers and vegetables. He was also very active in his church serving as a Deacon for a number of years. He worked over forty years in various railroad positions, finally retiring as Director of Claims for Amtrak’s Chicago office. He was a devoted husband to Joyce, a woman he met at a baseball game and never left the side of, during a remarkable 74 years of marriage. He was a loving Father to six children, active with them in the Boy Scouts of America and always taking an interest in their lives.

Beloved husband to Joyce; loving Dad of Jeff (Vicki) DeDea, Pat (Amy) DeDea, Vicki Bonner, Michael DeDea and Jack (the late Carmen) DeDea, Jennifer Schacht; cherished granddad of TJ, Kelly, Adrienne, Bonnie, Kristen, Allyson, Jill, Justin and Val; dear great granddad of Kate, Jesse, Charlotte, George, Harper, Ruby, Syvilla and great-great granddad of Orion and Stella. He was also a son, brother, nephew and friend to many. Cremation is private at this time.  A Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Cornerstone Faith Community Church, 118 First St. Bloomingdale, IL 60108 at 3:00 pm with a reception to follow.
