It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry J. Borden, who left this world peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, just shy of his 75th birthday. A longtime resident of Streamwood, IL, Terry was cherished by all who knew him for his strength, humor, and unwavering faith.
Born on September 7, 1951, Terry was a family man at heart. His life was dedicated to his loved ones and to his work as a truck driver, a profession he pursued with dedication and pride for many years. Terry was a man of strong character, overcoming obstacles with resilience and a spirit that inspired many.
He was deeply in touch with his Norwegian roots, often joking about being a Viking, and he cherished this heritage throughout his life. A lover of old Westerns and horses, Terry found joy in simple pleasures. His faith as a Christian guided him, and he was devoted to praying for and supporting those around him.
Terry is survived by his beloved daughters, Julie Ferguson and Sarah Mary (Doug) Borden Milliron; his cherished granddaughter, Leah; and his dear siblings, Lois Zierden, Joanne Charlette, Byron Robeke, Norma Craft, and Charlotte Kampfranz. His love and wisdom will also live on in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura Borden; his granddaughter, Jade; his father, James Dewitt Borden; his mother, Olga Corrine Elizabeth Robeke Borden (nee Gravening); and his brother, Roger Robeke.
A memorial service to celebrate Terry’s life is pending at Church on the Rock in Huntley, IL, where friends and family will gather to honor and remember the remarkable man he was.
Terry’s life was a testament to strength and faith, and he will be remembered for the joy he brought to everyone around him. Rest in peace, Terry, in the embrace of your heavenly home.
