Terrence Karner

Visitation for Terrence Ralph Karner, Sr., a lifelong resident of Roselle and Itasca, 6th generation, will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, from 3-8 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory, 333 S. Roselle Rd. (1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd.) Roselle. Friday, Sept. 7, lying in state 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brandon Woosley and special friend Rev. Terry Rowell. Service will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 118 1st Street, Bloomingdale 60108. Interment St. Paul/Evergreen.

Born January 10, 1950 in Elmhurst, Terry died peacefully at home on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012.

Veteran of US Marine Corps, served on Okinawa and at Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, DC, from 1968-1971. He was a member of the Marine Corps Assn., Marine Corps League and Roselle American Legion Post 1084 (past Adjutant and baseball coach). He was also a member of St. Paul Evangelical United Church of Christ and was employed by Schaumburg Park District.

He is the beloved husband of 41 years of Gerta Lea nee Partain; loving father of Terrence (Debbie) Jr. of South Elgin and Tammy (Kevin) Koch of St. Charles; proud grandfather of Bryce, Katelyn and Gretchen; cherished son of late Ralph H., Sr. and Florence Karner nee Koehler, dear brother of Donna Marino of Elk Grove Village and the late Ralph, Jr.
