Susan Hansen, of Elgin, Illinois passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on the morning of June 18th, 2024 surrounded by family.
Susan was born on November 5th, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph V. Kutil and Carole L. (Binek) Kutil. She attended Schaumburg High School and graduated in 1988. She made countless friends while in school and has stayed connected with many of them until her untimely passing.
As a young adult she began to set her sights on a career in fitness and had a passion for helping others. She was a part of the Dundee Park District for many years as an instructor and had great pride in her work with the community.
Susan enjoyed many things in life including, cooking, boating, running, and traveling to see friends and family. Many who knew Susan quickly learned that she was a free spirit and was not afraid to live authentically and fearlessly. She was funny, sweet, quirky, and never took things too seriously. She was the definition of an extrovert and could walk right up to strangers and make them laugh. She was adventurous in nature and loved to live true to herself.
Susan loved her family, friends, and her dog Putters and made sure that when she spent time with them, the goal was always about simply having fun and laughing together.
Susan was preceded in death by her father Joseph V. Kutil (2022). She is survived by her son Joey Hansen, her former husband Milo Hansen, her mother Carole (Binek) Kutil, her brother Tim Kutil and his family (Conni Kutil, Katy Oaks, Kayla Kutil-Janas, T.J Kutil) her brother Mark Kutil and his family (Angela Kutil, Aubrey Kutil, Dylan Kutil, Ariana Kutil) ; as well as her extended family and an abundance of friends. Susan has touched the lives of so many people and will truly be missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lutheran General Hospital for their compassionate care during Susan’s stay. They'd also like to thank all of our family and friends for their support and prayers during this difficult time. They have been overwhelmed with the amount of beautiful messages received and it has been healing to hear the wonderful memories that will carry on.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm P.M., at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 South Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood, IL 60107. The prayer service will be commencing at 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories and stories.
