Surendra Ambalal Desai

Surendra Ambalal Desai passed away at the age of 66, on June 22, 2020 in his Carol Stream home. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nirupa S. Desai, daughter Sonal Desai Choudhary, son Heeral S. Desai, granddaughter Aria Ishani Choudhary, grandson Asher Shaan Choudhary, and eldest brother Jaykrishna Desai.

Born in Nadiad, India to Ambalal and Hariben Desai. Surendra was the youngest of four siblings.
He went on to pursue a Bachelors of Science at J & J College of Science in Nadiad, India. At the age of 27, he met Nirupa and they were married on January 7, 1977. He moved to London to start their lives together. After being sponsored to come to the US, they settled in Carol Stream. On May 18th, 1982 and November 5th, 1985 respectively, he welcomed his daughter and son.

Surendra was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joy was cooking for family and friends, and was infamous for his fafda and onion pakoras. He enjoyed travelling back to India to visit his close friends, brother and sister. He loved to make everyone around him smile and laugh, especially his grandchildren. Known as Nana to his grandchildren, he spent countless hours playing bollywood classics and watching them dance. He was a very hardworking and spiritual man, devoted to the temple. Surendra was a kind, sweet and gentle soul. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
