Steven P. Schartow, 76, of Schaumburg, Il passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, at St. Alexius Medical Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born on September 8th, 1949, to Alvin and Thelma Schartow. Steven was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.
He was a proud member of the Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150 for over fifty years. Steve was a passionate family man, avid gardener, outdoors lover, grill master and sports fanatic. Especially The Chicago Bears.
Steven is survived by his Wife of forty-five years, Suzanne (Nee: Presmyk), his children Beth (Chris), O’Neill, David (Wendy) Hojnacki, and Richard Hojnacki, as well as his Grandchildren Isabella, Ava, and Owen. He is survived by his sister Jean Schartow Templeton of Elgin, and preceded in death by his brother John, (Sandy), and his sister Ann. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A Private service will be held with a Celebration of life to be determined at a later date.
