Steve Jankowski passed away Friday, April 7, 2023. Steve worked at Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Cemeteries. He was a Supervising Engineer - Planning and Development Technical Services. He worked there for 40 years and retired December 2022. Beloved husband of the late Judy, nee Kaderbek; dad of Anna (Kevin) Mersereau and Emily Jankowski (Cami Clemo); brother of Susan (late Glen) Romanchuk; son of the late Steve and Sue, nee Geanconteri; son in law of Julianna "Julie" Kaderbek; uncle of Bradley Romanchuk and Sheri MacFarlan. Steve and Judy are also joined in heaven with their little Havanese Maltese the late Molly and last but not least, Steve was so excited for June 25th, when Anna and Kevin are expecting a baby girl.
Steve was a reserved and quiet man, a family man. He had his dad jokes, which he loved to tell. He could make conversation with anyone and often make friends with them and would tell stories. He enjoyed going to the movie theater, weekly and was current on upcoming movies and shows. He loved his different book series and was an avid reader. He loved to travel and went on trips with family but also planned some solo ones. He loved his wine and going to wine festivals and tastings. He has shared that love with his children. He was looking forward to being a first time grandfather.
Memorial visitation Saturday, April 15th, 10:30 am until time of stories and memories 11:30am at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Following services, family and friends will meet at Queen of Heaven Cemetery for inurnment at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Gift of Hope would be appreciated.
