Stephanie Boien

Stephanie Boien, age 61, of Schaumburg, Illinois, formerly of Marion, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011 surrounded by her loved ones. She will always be remembered for her selfless generosity, strong adventurous spirit, and love and dedication to family and friends. Stephanie was the daughter of John and Virginia Kelly, both of whom preceded her in death. Stephanie leaves her husband Chuck, of Schaumburg, Illinois; daughter Angela Bursua and her family, husband Brian and children Arden and Oscar of Berwyn, Illinois; step-daughter Jackie Minton and her family, husband Bill and children Jada, Lana, Levi and Jonah of Springfield, Illinois; and step-son David Boien and his family, wife Stacey and children Dale, Paige and Brooke of Bagdad, Kentucky. Stephanie had been the Director of the Marion Chamber of Commerce from 1990 to 1998 and was instrumental in working with the communities of Marion and Carbondale in the development of the Route 13 Economic Development Corridor. She worked for the Jewish Children’s Bureau of Northbrook, Illinois until her retirement in 2006. During her retirement she enjoyed pursuing her passions: travelling the country via Harley, climbing trees with her grandchildren, and rediscovering her love of design. There will be a private family memorial service at the Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory, Streamwood, Illinois.
