Starr C. Komacki (nee Ruskey), passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. She was born September 16, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. Starr worked as a Lifestyle Specialist at the Victory Center in Bartlett, Illinois for 16 years. She worked for 31 years helping seniors and their families.
 
 Starr was an avid gardener, enjoyed music, spending time with her friends at the casino, and visits with the grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.
 
 Beloved mom of Kimberly C. Komacki (daughter); John J. Komacki(son) and Paul S. Komacki(Erin), and cherished grandmother of Sarah and Hope Komacki; caring daughter of Joseph and Beulah Mae(nee Reed) Ruskey; dear sister of the late Pamela Burda, and dear sister of the late  Joseph Ruskey; sister-in-law of Frank Burda and Patricia Ruskey; aunt/godmother of Christie Gleeson; aunt to Rebecca A. Ruskey, Joseph K. Ruskey, Michael A. Ruskey, Patricia M. Kendall, and Joey LaPorte.
 
 Starr was also childhood friends to Cheryl Hagen, Joanne LaPorte, and Angela Schrod as well as longtime friends of Kenny Komperda, Joseph James, Mary Ciesla and The Castellano Family.
 
 I would like to mention a heartfelt thank you to Vicky Striegel, Laurie Geschrey, Lora Birong, Dr. R. Sood, Alexian Brothers Hospice, co-workers and residents at VCB, and the management of Pathway to Living.
 
 As well, thank you to The Pogacnik Family, Donna Schaefer, Shannan Layette, Jennifer Guana, Alicia Amaya, Silvano Miguel, Joanne LaPorte, and Cheryl Hagen for helping my mom and supporting our family during challenging times.
 
 Memorial gathering 11:00a.m. until time of Mass, 11:30a.m. at St. Peter Damian Catholic Church, 131 S Crest Ave, Bartlett. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory.
