Stanley “Stan” Stepnik, 102, died Saturday, November 12, 2022.  Born October 25, 1920 in Chicago.  Stan was a graduate of Lane Tech High School in Chicago and at the time of his passing was the oldest alum.  He was also a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard having served during WWII where he fought in the battle of Okinawa.  While stationed in Frankfort, Michigan, he met the love of his life, Alice.  After the war Stan attended pharmacy school at U of I and later was proud to acquire his own store, Addison Pharmacy in Chicago.  Beloved husband of 73 years to the late Alice; loving father of Joe (Marilyn) Stepnik and the late Lynn Henn; father-in-law to Mike (Kim) Henn; cherished grandfather of Kirsten (Jeff) Ingham, Emily (Jim Barry) Cimo-Barry, Lindsey (Jamie) Loynes, Joe (Kelly) Stepnik and Molly (Derek DeVinney) Stepnik; dear great grandfather of Andrew, Will and Audrey Ingham, Reagan and Addison Barry; kind son of the late Joseph and Katherine Stepnik; caring brother of Helen, Emily and Irene;  proud uncle of Roman, Ed and Christine Okrei, Michael (Tamara) Brooks, Joanne Gilliam, Nancy Harvey and John (Vickie) Drapak and many other nieces and nephews in Michigan.  Cremation was private at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, South Elgin.  A celebration of life will be held for Stan and Alice in the spring.
