Simone Yurgaitis

Simone Renee Yurgaitis, 97 years old of Cary Illinois, passed away on June 16th 2022 peacefully in her sleep.
Simone was born on December 18th, 1924 to Marcel and Marie Baron in Paris France. She attended schooling in France. She started her first job taking care of children during WWII. In 1945, Simone met the love of her life Peter Yurgaitis who was stationed in France during the war and later were married February 8th, 1946. They honeymooned in Nice, France. Simone traveled from France to the United States with the other war brides on the SS Vulcania the same year. Simone and Peter went on to have four children, Phillip (Barbara)Yurgaitis, Frances (James) Lyne, Daniel Yurgaitis and Michelle Spaulding.
Simone and Peter were the proud owners of Peters Bakery in Cary, Illinois for 49 years before retiring. She spent her retirement planting flowers, traveling and enjoying time with her family and friends while living in Roselle Illinois.
Simone was preceded in death by her parents Marcel and Marie Baron, her husband Peter Yurgaitis, her sister Marcelle Devane, her son Phillip Yurgaitis and son in law James Lyne. She is survived by her 11 grandchildren Katie Hanus, Christy (Brendan) Kelly, Peter (Amy) Yurgaitis, Victoria (Patrick) Brice , Valerie Lyne, John Lyne, Scott Lyne, Marc Pierre (Christine) Yurgaitis and Rhiannon Stephany. She is survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Countryside Funeral Home in Roselle Illinois on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 from 9:30am until time of service 11:00am. Interment will be held at Windridge Cemetery in Cary Illinois following the service at Countryside. A small luncheon will follow at Francesca's Famiglia, 100 E. Station St.,Barrington Illinois immediately after.
