Shyam Gupta

December 31, 1969 — March 22, 2024

Shyam Gupta Sep.13, 1944 to March 22, 2024

In loving memory of our dear father and beloved husband Sham Gupta, who passed away on March 22, 2024   Surrounded by his beloved family. His loving personality and smiling face will be missed forever. He is survived by his wife Madhu Gupta and their children, Chandra(Ron), Angela(Jeff), Dave(Ann), Tim(Laura), Manik(Nisha), Mukul(Bhavnita), 12 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Sham was born and raised in Ludhiana, India.  He completed his BSC in Ludhiana and came to the USA in 1963 to complete his degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN and then settled in Chicago, IL with his now deceased wife and mother of his 4 children in 1967.

Sham’s biggest passion was spending time with his family in India and his children and grandchildren throughout the United States. Food was his passion. He loved to walk 365 days a year and to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, and travel. He volunteered at the public library for over 30 years, donated blood for many years, and engaged in the many pursuits of his children with support, encouragement, and sound advice.  He was also a dedicated employee for Schumacher Electric where he worked for more that 40 years.

Sham was one of the finest man in the family, friends and community.

He will be missed by a large and extended network of family and friends from the Chicagoland area, around the US, and in India.
