Shirley Ann Sullens

Shirley Ann Sullens, a beloved resident of Elgin, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on Saturday, September 4, 1943, Shirley's life was marked by her dedication to family, her community, and her passionate interests.

Shirley was the cherished mother of Deanna (Chris) Sayre, and the late Brooks (the late Kathy) Sullens, and the late Glenn (Lisa) Sullens. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she was the proud and loving grandmother to Mandy, Austin, Ashleigh, Jennifer, Dustin, Cole, and Nick, and great-grandmother to six beautiful great-grandchildren.

A lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, Shirley also cheered passionately for Alabama Football. Her hobbies included sewing and the card game pinochle.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rolla, and her sisters, Janet and Beverly, Shirley's legacy is one of love, joy, and resilience. Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory in Bartlett. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 pm.
