Shirley died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 20th at the age of 86. She leaves behind a rich legacy of faith, family and friends. She was preceded in death by Clyde Nelson, her loving husband of 63 years. She is survived by her children Carolyn (Don) Story, Randall (Vivian) Nelson and James (Lynnda) Nelson and her grandchildren Sarah Story, Mark Story, Alyssa Nelson, Alexander Nelson, Megan Nelson, Kjersten Nelson, Bonnie Nelson and Jason Nelson, and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was the daughter of Leonard and Edna Forsman.

Shirley was a Christian woman who poured herself into her family and her church. She had the gift of hospitality, a buoyant personality, a positive outlook on life and a deep faith in Jesus Christ. She and Clyde raised a family of musicians although she always felt she had musical shortcomings!

Shirley enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and developed special relationships with each one of them. She loved spending time with friends and family and always had the coffee on and the door open. She was generous and understood the value of serving others. She loved telling stories….both truthful and apocryphal. Her sense of humor and mischief were infectious. Shirley was a woman of grace, courage and kindness.
