Shirley A. Gatz, 89, of South Elgin, died Friday, August 2, 2024. Born February 25, 1935 in Cicero. Shirley was the owner of S&G Ceramics and worked at Elgin Sweeper Company for several years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and the occasional game of golf. She will be missed by her family. Beloved mom of Daniel (Laura), Mark (Suzan), Michael (Gina) and Deborah (Joseph); loving grandma of Amanda, Samantha, Chelsea, Nicholas, Jason, Christopher, Anthony, Alex, Robert and Jacob; cherished great grandma of Lily, Olivia and Phineas. Visitation 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 95 S Gilbert St, South Elgin. Funeral Friday 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
