Shirley Deless

November 15, 1934 — December 11, 2023

On December 11, 2023 our dearest mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away after a long battle with cancer. Shirley DeLess, 89, lived in Streamwood, Illinois for more than 50 years with her daughter, JoLyn Grantham. Shirley was born on November 15, 1934, in Dunn, North Carolina. Mom is reunited with her parents, Ethel and Willis; siblings, Bill, Deryl and John Barbour; and daughter, Michelle Carter along with many family and friends.

Shirley was a proud employee of Walmart where she worked as a cashier until she retired at age 80. She also loved volunteering with the mail team at Willow Creek Community Church.

Shirley is survived by her children, John Grantham and his wife, Pamela, JoLyn Grantham and her partner, Joey Garcia and Mike Grantham and his wife, Patricia. Shirley had several grandchildren,Randy Fulara, Brandi Morrison, Christopher Adam Morrison, Anna Lopez (Carter) and step-grandchildren, Amy Minter, Jennifer Bergstad, Jennifer Tatosian, Mindy Cramer, along with several great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation Friday, December 15 from 11:00am until time of service 1:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.), Streamwood/Schaumburg. Interment Bluff City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org are appreciated. Info (630)289-8054
