Shawn T. Finn, 61, a resident of Clearbrook, formerly of Addison, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Shawn was a simple man who loved his family deeply. Anyone who knew him could almost always find him enjoying some of his favorite things: a Coke, playing with his deck of cards, watching I Love Lucy, or listening to and singing along with the oldies on his radio.
Others have shared that Shawn was given a heavy cross to bear by the Lord, yet he never complained. Though he needed others to watch over him, we can find peace in knowing that he will now be watching over us, forever and always.
Shawn gave us all an amazing gift that we should never take for granted: the gift of unconditional love, and what it truly looks like.
He was the beloved son of the late Leo & Rita Finn; Loving brother of Mary (Brad) Cook, Shannon (Doug) Jones, Kevin Finn, Colleen Scali, and Ryan (Katrina) Finn; cherished uncle of Kaylind (Jake), Connor (Morgann), Kierstyn (Robert), Justin, Thomas, Jack, Sarah, Michael, Anthony, Alexa, and Ayden; dear great-uncle of Tatum.
Along with all of us Shawn was a nephew and cousin to many.
Memorial Mass, Saturday, April 18th., 10:00 am at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 551 N. Rush St., Itasca, IL. Following Mass, inurnment will take place at Mt. Emblem Cemetery at 11:30 am, 520 E Grand Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Please meet at the office.
A private cremation will be held at the Countryside Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Clearbrook Center (www.clearbrook.org) or 1835 West Central Road
Arlington Heights, IL 60005, where Shawn resided, would be gratefully appreciated.
