Sharon Lee Volmer, 86, of Bartlett, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023, in her home.
Born on March 4, 1937, in Elgin, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Madeline Hillquist.
She is survived by her loving husband, Fred. Sharon is the beloved mother of Scott (Linda), Paul, Mark (Debbie), and Chris (Mary) Volmer, loving grandmother of Jessica Volmer, Matthew (Narielle) Volmer, Kyle (Jessalin) Volmer, Travis Volmer, Devin Volmer, and Haley (TJ) Hill, adoring great grandmother of Tyler Volmer, Daemyn Volmer, Addison Volmer, Riley Volmer, Brantley Stallings, and Carter Hill, dear sister of Gary Hillquist, fond nieces, Laurie Heise and Jennifer (Matt) Klenske and great nieces and nephews, Garrett Heise, Madeline Heise, Noah Klenske and Christian Klenske.
Sharon married her husband, Fred, on July 13, 1957, in Elgin, Illinois. She was employed by Dutch maid clothing for many years and then went to Elgin Community College where she earned her CNA degree. She worked for Home Health Care as an CNA until she retired. Once retired, they traveled back and forth from Minocqua, Wisconsin, to Brooksville, Florida, for many years. Sharon was involved in many charitable organizations, craft groups, sorority groups, and a member of the Red Hat group. She loved to golf, camp, boat, fish, and most of all spend time with her family.

A memorial service will be at Zion Lutheran Church 330 Griswold Street, Elgin on Saturday, May 20th at 12:00. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at Chris and Mary's home in St. Charles until 5:00 pm
Sharon will be dearly missed and always remembered as a caring, loving, and generous woman.
