Scott G Federighi, 62, passed peacefully on March 28, 2026, surrounded by the people who loved him most.
He is Kathy’s loving husband of 38 years, and her best friend for 42 years. He is the loving father of Taylor, Brandon, and Dylan. He is Eric’s loving father-in-law, and Wyatt’s very proud papa.
Scott was the beloved son of Dorothy and the late Silvio, and a dear brother to Tara, Lisa, Ricky, Marco, and Jody.
He was a loving brother-in-law to Todd, Rick, Norma, Marianne, Donna, and Roger.
He was the fun, loving uncle to 15 nieces and nephews and a proud great-uncle to 9.
Scott was, simply put, the best dad and husband. The kind of person who showed up for everything, who gave endlessly, and loved his people with his whole heart. He was supportive, selfless, and the hardest working man we knew. He had a way of making life feel lighter even if his dad jokes were a little corny. He loved music, racing, woodworking, and most of all, just being with the people he loved.
Throughout his life, Scott wore many hats. From his time as a trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to his work in real estate with Keller Williams. No matter where he was, his coworkers quickly became his family. That’s just the effect he had on people.
He was known for his “make good choices” as you walked out the door, his magical hugs that could fix just about anything, and those sparkly eyes and warm smile that made you feel safe the second you saw him. He was stubborn in the best way. The kind of man who looked challenges straight in the face and said, “Is that all you got?”
We will miss him in a million little ways, every single day. Let’s all keep making good choices… and holding onto his hugs a little longer.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to The Hope Lodge by American Cancer Society. The Hope Lodge hosts cancer patients at no cost during treatments. Scott and Kathy were blessed with the opportunity to stay here during his treatments at MD Anderson Texas. We would like to help follow their mission of easing the burden for people with cancer by giving hope a home.
