All held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly. He is called lovingly as Daddy, Grandpapa, Chikkappa, Chinya, Mama, Uncle, and so on … that shows the many that truly adore this wonderful, charismatic, intelligent, and beautiful soul. He effused love, joy, warmth, spirituality, knowledge to anyone he met. Not only that, but he had a great ability to make others smile and will be missed.
Sathya was born on May 3rd, 1928, in Belur, a town in India. He had a passion for education, learning and put himself through high school, college and universities pursuing multiple degrees (sciences, literature, and law). He was commissioned to educate at universities in several countries in Africa and traveled and finally settled in Zambia. Married to his beloved wife, Shantha, who also was an educator, brought up their two children in Zambia. He returned to India with his family and practiced law. He was well-respected by his colleagues and friends, and known as a true Gentleman. Later in his life, after the passing of his dear wife, he lived with his children in the United States.
Daddy truly embraced all the changes whether be it happiness, sadness, bumps in life. He embraced everything that came down his path. In Hindu culture, we believe in that you need to go through Karma and embrace it with open arms. We can truly say that Dad did that. He truly completed his “circle of life”. Dad was a spiritual, philosophical soul who had an abundance of stories to share, and knowledge to impart. He went above and beyond to help and provide needful guidance and support to friends and family. He was truly loved by one and all!
Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of our Dearest Dad.
