Sarah Palomaki

Visitation for Sarah Elizaberth Palomaki of Chicago, formerly of Bartlett, will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 4:00 -8:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns) Bartlett. Lying in state Thursday 10:00a.m. until time of Service 11:00a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church 115 N. Spring St. Elgin. Following services, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory.

A graduate of Elgin High School class of 1992, Sarah went on to Northern Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with honors. In addition to writing she was at her creative best when she was working with a paint brush. Sarah was an avid lover of yoga and taught Hatha Yoga.

Always soft-spoken, Sarah was always quick with a kind word. Her deep faith guided her throughout her life. In addition to her love of animals, she shared a special bond with her dog Rothko and cat Wednesday.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends at Jax's in Chicago where she gathered with her friends for her favorite Gluten-free Organic Perry's Sparkling Pear Cider and tater tots. Sarah was a huge fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Cubs and Bears.

She is preceded in death by her dear boyfriend Eric Batterman.

Sarah is the cherished daughter of Donald and Jean Palomaki nee Champion; beloved sister of Cynthia (Michael) Jagmin; loving aunt of Amelia Emma Jagmin; dear niece of Karen Elizabeth Champion and Ruben (Donna) Champion.

Sarah will also be missed by her many friends, especially her best friends Jenny Howard Sparks and Yasmine Russell-Amato and her cat "Wednesday" In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin or the Anti-Cruelty Society. (630) 289-7575.
