Ruth F. Anderson (nee: Richardson), age 88, of Bartlett (formerly of Elgin) passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20 surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Elgin from 1957 until 2008. She was born on June 24, 1924 in Sandwich Illinois to Mable and Edward Richardson. She was a founding member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Elgin and participated in the church choir, Women’s Guild, LWML, and was a Sunday School superintendent and choir director. She was an eye surgical nurse at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago until she decided to raise a family. She was a World Book representative and a people person. She loved to roller skate, play cards, bowl, fish, spend time with family and was a Girl Scout leader. She was a loving wife to Ronald for over 64 years, loving mother of four children – Valerie (Ken) Jones of Elgin, Pamela (Steve Conro) Anderson of Batavia, Kenton Anderson of Chicago, and Patricia Anderson of Wellington Kentucky and dear sister of brother, Lloyd Richardson (the late Delois) of Montgomery Illinois. Visitation is Monday 3:00P.M. to 8:00PM in the chapel at Clare Oaks Retirement Community, 801 Carillon, Bartlett. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church, 535 North McLean Blvd. in Elgin, where she will lie in state from 10:30AM until time of service at 11:00A.M. Burial will be at the Sandwich Township Cemetery in Sandwich about 3PM Tuesday. In her memory and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Calvary Lutheran Church.
