It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Roslyn “Roey” S. Springer, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend to everyone she met. Roslyn departed this world on Thursday, May 28th, 2026. She was born in Chicago on July 9th, 1943, and graced this world with 82 years of unwavering love, light and devotion to her family and friends.
Roslyn was a dedicated mother to her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Eric Sauceda. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Paige Gannon, Luke Sauceda, Cameron Sauceda, Petty Officer Ryan Sauceda (U.S. Navy), and Zachary Sauceda, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life.
Roslyn was preceded in death by her loving parents, G. Ross Jr. and Nancy Stebbins whose spirits she joins in eternal peace. She also leaves behind her brother, Ross "Bud" Stebbins III.
Her life was filled with the enormous joy she received as her grandchildren’s greatest sports fan. Roslyn could be seen on the sidelines cheering for them all at football, soccer and basketball games often at St. Edward High School. She became known and beloved as a fixture at those events, always making new friends and spreading cheerfulness. She was also a passionate supporter of the Chicago Bears, cheering for them every season. Her affinity for drama TV, especially “General Hospital," also held a special place in her heart.
Roslyn’s most treasured role was that of Bama/Nana. She dedicated her life to nurturing, guiding, and celebrating the accomplishments of her grandchildren, whom she loved profoundly.
Roslyn's genuine warmth, humor, and enduring love for her family and friends will be carried forward by all who knew her. Her kindness, loving spirit, welcoming nature and bubbly personality will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered.
Cremation arrangements are being made privately at the Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory in Bartlett. A celebration of her life will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
