Rosemarie Thompson

Rosemarie Antoinette Thompson, age 90, of Carol Stream, formerly of Bellwood, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton surrounded by her family.

She was born November 1, 1925 in Chicago, the daughter of Sebastian and Elizabeth (Schwartz) Caliendo.

Rosemarie worked for many years in the Collection Agency for Sears. She found great joy in hosting family parties, cooking and sewing and was particularly famous for her specialty desserts and Italian food. Rosemarie enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children Roxane (Donald) Gutzmer of West Chicago, Christine (Raymond) Fawkes of Carol Stream, Mark (Michele) Thompson of St. Charles and Matthew (Donna) Thompson of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many other dear nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Sebastian, sisters Joan Conran and Dolores Schiavone and husband Thomas who passed away in 1999.

Funeral prayers will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 9:00 am at Countryside Funeral Home 950 S Bartlett Road, Bartlett proceeding to Resurrection Catholic Church, 30W350 Army Trail Road, Wayne for celebration of funeral Mass at 10:00 am, Father Tri Tran, celebrant.

Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 4:00-9:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, Bartlett.
