Rosanne Plencner

September 26, 1935 — April 27, 2023

We are sad to announce the passing of Rosanne Therese Plencner (nee Rychtarczyk), loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, and grandmother. Rosanne was the youngest of 4 daughters of first-generation Polish immigrants, John and Rose Rychtarczyk (nee Szeliga). Her sisters Genieve Rosinski, Janette Bartczak, and Irene Schultz preceded her.

Born and raised in Chicago, she attended St. Hyacinth Grade School and graduated from Carl Schultz High School. Immediately following her graduation, she entered the work force taking on the administrative tasks of a law firm. At age 21, she married the love of her life, Ronald Plencner, whom she’d dated since the eighth grade. Not but nine months later, Sharon arrived – her only child.

Her career took her into the home building business and in the late 60’s she moved to South Barrington with her family. There, she became very involved with the Village as Secretary, then Commissioner of the Planning and Zoning Committee, eventually serving as a Commissioner for the Village of South Barrington. She is responsible for the design and construction of the Village Hall. Rosanne was an active participant of her community not only through her job, but also through her volunteer work. Both she and her husband would make an appearance at the Village Hall dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving by helicopter at Christmas time to indulge the children of the local community, a tradition her granddaughters, Lauryn and Ashley Sperling, thoroughly enjoyed.

Rosanne and Ron took a very active role in the upbringing of their granddaughters, spending time with them every day after school and taking them on regular weekend field trips. After her retirement and Ron’s passing, Rosanne delved into hobbies like line dancing, aquacise, biking, and volunteering as an usher. In 2017, Rosanne followed her daughter down to Naples, Florida where she spent her last years surrounded by her adoring family.
