Roniva D. "Bud" Brown, 84, of Poplar Grove, formerly of Hanover Park, passed away Sunday, January 28th at home. Brown was a staff sergeant of the Air Force and was stationed in Korea from 1951-1953. He was employed as an air traffic controller at O'Hare for 35 years. He was a longtime member of St. Ansgar parish and was active in a number of ministries including Divine Mercy and religious education.
Bud is survived by children Dawn Brown, Roniva D. Brown III, Gayle (Alexander) Piloni, Sr.; grandchildren: Christopher Green, Brandon (Fiance Melissa Eller) Green, Alexander Caton, Tyler Velasquez, Adrianah (Fiance Christopher Uhlir) Velasquez, Oscar Piloni, Giovanni Piloni, Gianina Piloni, Alexander Piloni, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Isaiah Green, Masen Uhlir; brother, the late Raymond Brown; sister, the late Virginia Smidt; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 31st from 3:00 pm to 9:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd), Streamwood/Schaumburg, IL 60107. Prayers at the funeral home Thursday, February 1st, 2018 9:30 to Mass 10:00 am at St. Ansgar Roman Catholic Church, 2040 Laurel Ave Hanover Park, IL 60133, with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin, IL.
