Firefighter Ronald F. Shulga, 80, of Carol Stream and formerly of Chicago; husband for 59 years, to Darlene, nee Wertz; dad of Shari (John) Zito, Marc and the late Firefighter Captain Ronald D. (Mary Klebba-Shulga); grandpa of Marc, Eric and Sarah; brother of the late Virginia (late Jim) Bieze; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Ron was a devoted husband, proud father who loved to travel, fish and anything to do with animals. He served his country from 1961 - 1963 in the US Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and became a firefighter for the Chicago Fire Department in 1970, in which he served for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He had a good sense of humor and loved what he did...being a Chicago firefighter on Engine 124 at Kedzie and Montrose and at the end of his career at O'Hare as the driver on Tower Ladder 63. He came off as being tough on the outside but on the inside he was a big softy. Visitation Sunday, July 8th, 2:00 pm- 8:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd.
