Ronald Eugene Orman of Batavia, formerly of Bartlett, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on March 3, 1938, in Ottumwa, Iowa, Ron graduated from Western Illinois University, where he proudly played on the golf team. While he spent his career in sales, his greatest fulfillment came from the life he built with his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Ron was a gentle presence—thoughtful, kind, and devoted to those he loved.
He had a lifelong love of sports, but his greatest joy came from cheering on his grandchildren at their games—nothing made him prouder than supporting them on the sidelines. Over the past 30 years, he cherished time spent in Naples, Florida, where he enjoyed making memories with his family, relaxing on the lanai, and watching golf.
Ron Orman was the loving husband of Joan for 62 years; devoted father of Jeff (Elizabeth) Orman and Jon (Lori) Orman; and cherished grandfather of Brittney (Sam), Bethany, Hailey, Libby, and Griffin. He was the dear son of the late Floyd and Pauline Orman, and the beloved brother of Debbie (Dale) Rockwell and the late Kay Beardin (Jim). He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joyce Hill (the late Jim Hill), and his nephew, Steve (Jennifer) Hill.
Visitation will be at 2:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, at the Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Road, Bartlett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Bartlett, in Ron’s memory.
