Ronald L. Sensor, a lifelong resident of South Elgin and Elgin, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on January 25, 1940, Ronald's life was a testament to devotion, passion, and love for his family, community, and interests.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his sons, Jeffrey and Kevin (Susan), and cherished as a devoted grandfather to Ron A. (Samantha), Eric (Alyse), Sarah (Ian), and Kate (fiancé Tyler Obradovitz). He adored his great-grandchildren, Lila, Dominic, Ron R. "Remy", J.T., Everett, Roman, and Lily, and shared a special bond with his sister, Martha Ahrens. Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marjorie, sons Ron W. (Peggy) and Daniel, daughter-in-law Laura, granddaughter Sophia, as well as his parents, William and Helen, and his brothers, Bill and Dave.
Throughout his life, Ron found joy and fulfillment in many pursuits. He was an avid camper, a loyal Chicago Bears fan, and an enthusiastic fisherman. His hands were never idle as he crafted beautiful pieces through woodworking. His adventurous spirit took him traveling whenever the opportunity arose, including exciting ventures into stock and Indy car racing. However, above all else, he cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, securing a lasting legacy of love and warmth.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ron's life at a visitation at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory of South Elgin, located in South Elgin, Illinois, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will follow at the same location at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kane Senior Council, an organization close to Ron's heart, which provides crucial food and well-being services such as Meals on Wheels. Contributions can be made online at www.kaneseniorcouncil.org.
Ron will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to thrive in the hearts of those he touched.
