Rochella Heller

Rochella “Shelly” Heller passed away on June 3, 2026 at the age of 81 in Elgin. Born on December 17, 1944, to Bernard and Faymel Bergfeld, Shelly spent her early years in Southern Illinois, before moving with her family to Aurora, IL. Throughout her life, Shelly enjoyed being in nature, watching for hummingbirds, quilting, waiting for it to snow, and celebrating all things Christmas. But above all else, she loved being a mom and a grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Lenny; and her cherished dog Toto. She is survived by her loving sons Steve Swan and Scott (Lisa) Swan; granddaughters Kara and Melanie Swan; sisters JoAnn (Jerry) Nowak and Carol (Wayne) Wiewiora; sister-in-law Sue Bergfeld; and many nieces and nephews. In her later years, Shelly enjoyed the simple pleasures of pizza, chocolate, Hallmark movies, and listening to stories. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 25 at 10:00 am at Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory, 333 S. Roselle Rd, Roselle, IL, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to your favorite animal shelter, or just spend some time with someone in need of company.
