Rocco William Consalvo passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the age of 81.
Rocco was the dearly loved husband of Jayne (nee Graczyk) for nearly 35 years. Rocco was born in Chicago on July 27, 1945 to Angeline (nee Purciarello) and Rocco Consalvo; he is survived by his 2 older brothers Joseph (Carol) and Daniel (the late Alice) Consalvo.
Rocco was a loving father to Jacqueline (Glenn) and Angie (Mark); proud grandfather of Joseph (Bethany), Michael, Elizabeth (Garrett), Thomas, Daniel and Isabelle (Kaleb); great grandfather to Noah, Jade, Carol, Calcifer and David; a favorite uncle; a cherished cousin and beloved nephew.
Rocco was extremely proud to have lived in the Italian neighborhood of Taylor Street and Racine Avenue in Chicago. His childhood was full of family, food, love and faith. Rocco’s family belonged to the Catholic Church of the Holy Family where he attended school and also served as an Alter Boy well into his teens. Rocco was ever proud to be a 1963 graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep; he spent a few semesters at Loyola University and then chose a career in Auto Mechanics. Rocco loved working for Al Piemonte Ford and enjoyed career in the field of mechanics at several different Ford dealerships. In 1989 Rocco put down his tools and became the co-owner of “Cuz’s Café” in Elk Grove Village. Rocco enjoyed many years in the food business and loved the connections he made with the surrounding business community.
Along with their mother Carol, Rocco raised his girls in Streamwood Illinois. The memories Jacki and Angie have of their daddy are countless. Rocco was always their number one fan and was incredibly proud of their talents and successes. There was never a doubt his girls were his world. Jacki and Angie saw their daddy light up whenever they were in the room until the very end.
In 1991 Rocco married Jayne. Jayne and Rocco had a wonderful life; together they enjoyed travel, golf, bowling, simple days and movie nights. Jayne was a loving wife and provided Rocco with tender care as he lived with Alzheimer’s disease. Rocco adored Jayne; he loved her beautiful smile and kind heart.
1991 was a special year as Rocco welcomed his first Grandchild Joseph. Rocco and Jayne celebrated their roles as grandparents and joyfully welcomed 5 more grandchildren and eventually 5 great grandchildren. Rocco and Jayne never missed a sporting event, recital, school program, prom photos and graduations. Rocco’s grandchildren are extremely thankful for the great love their grandpa showed them throughout their entire lives and will miss his presence greatly.
Rocco loved anything Chicago, he was a lifelong White Sox fan but also found it hard to root against the Cubs. Rocco loved to bring his girls to “Sox games” and would chat with Angie about the White Sox constantly. Rocco loved rooting for the Chicago Bears and loved watching games alongside his great big family.
Rocco never missed Friday night bowling with his brothers and his Father and did so for nearly 2 decades. Rocco enjoyed bowling so much he added a second weekly league. Eventually it was a bowling alley where would meet his wife Jayne.
Golf was truly Rocco’s passion, for nearly 40 years Rocco golfed every Sunday morning and every chance he got to play he took! In his later years it brought Rocco great joy to golf with his son-in-law, his grandsons and their buddies. Rocco loved the sport of golf very much but truth be told, the time he spent golfing with his buddies and family was loved even more. Lifelong friendships were built on the links. Countless memories, laughs and “Roccoisms” in his honor will be relived on those very links for many years to come.
Rocco was a larger than life guy; he was the speech giver, the story teller, the joke telling caring man who made all those he knew feel special. Rocco had the gift of being the ultimate “glass half full” guy. Under all that personality lived a heart of gold. Rocco quietly spent hours upon hours lending his hand to friends and family members that needed help. He would visit a widowed distant cousin weekly, deliver groceries every Wednesday to an old friend, he help care for a friend who became handicapped and always found the time to visit his dear friend who suffered a stroke. Rocco would drop everything to help his daughters and grandchildren. If you knew Rocco you knew he would be there for you anytime you needed him.
Rocco was a very good man; a man who loved big and cared deeply. Rocco’s legacy will live on in the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched.
Ciao Rocco.
