Robert Paul Rybicki, 71, of Wheeling, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2024. Born on January 15, 1953, in California, Robert was known for his love of the outdoors. He found joy in camping, fishing, birdwatching, needlepoint, photography, and cultivating flowers and plants. A passionate traveler, he visited all 50 states and explored many of the National Parks.
A veteran of the United States Army, Robert served for four years and was honorably discharged in 1979. During his service, he earned numerous Certificates of Achievement and was stationed in Germany, where he also traveled extensively across Europe.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Robert was the beloved son of the late Casimir “Jack” Rybicki and Dolores Rybicki. He is survived by his brothers, David (Rosemary) and James, James’s late wife Amanda, and Kenneth Rybicki. He leaves behind his cherished nephews and nieces: Adam Rybicki (Nicole), April Banaszak (Robert), Teagan Hampel and his great-nieces and great-nephews: Michael Maritato, Briana Rybicki, Brooklyn Banaszak, and Danica Banaszak.
Cremation will be private at Countryside Crematory. Robert’s remains will be interred alongside his parents in Wisconsin at a later date with full military honors.
