Robert J. Van Osten (BVO), 64, died suddenly on Friday, July 31, 2015 at his home in Granbury, Texas. Robert was born August 16, 1950, in Lansing, Illinois where he lived through grade school before later moving to Medinah, IL. He attended Lake Park High School in Roselle, IL, graduated from University of Illinois, and received his MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. Upon graduation, he had a long and successful career in waste management and was instrumental in the success and growth of Environmental Management International (EMI). He and his wife raised their family in Roselle, IL and recently retired to Granbury, TX, where he was actively involved in the home owners association for his subdivision while enjoying reading and relaxing by the pool. He is survived by his wife, Pat (nee Bunch); his son, Robert (Sara nee Heppner), grand-daughter Lily; daughter Lauren and soon-to-be son-in-law Erik Silis; sisters Mary Beth Stark and Sally Petersen and endless nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents Robert and Mary, and brother John. Memorial visitation 1:00p.m. until time of memorial service 2:30p.m. Saturday, August 8 at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 333 S Roselle Rd (1/4 mile south of Irving Park), Roselle.
