Robert Mondro

Robert “Bob” E. Mondro, 62, of Streamwood, formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday April 26, 2011 at home. Born August 21, 1948 in Chicago. He was the son of Edward and Stephanie (nee Mazur). A veteran of the U.S. Army, Robert enjoyed cooking and was incredibly handy, but his true passions were fishing and his family.
Survivors include wife Elizabeth (nee Glab); daughters Melissa (fiancé Robert Benson) and Samantha “Sammy”; sister Deborah (Jurgen) Wirth; Aunt Julia Fortuna and cousins Jerry and Diane Fortuna.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation Friday, April 29, 2011 from 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Visitation will continue Saturday from 12:00p.m. until time of service 3:00p.m. at the funeral home. Following services, cremation will be at the Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America, VVA Chapter 311, P.O. Box 1995, Des Plaines, IL 60017.
