Robert Joseph Mergener, 91, a devout Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan, of Chicago and McHenry, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Judith; loving father of Julieann Froehlich and Robert (Lori) Mergener; proud grandfather of Mitchel (Sarah Gannett) Froehlich and Ryan Mergener; dear brother of the late George (the late Geri) Mergener and the late Jack Mergener; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, June 24 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett. Funeral Friday June 25 at 11:00am at the funeral home.
